Hi all,
As mentioned in my previous post, my new horse Thomas and I attended the Lockhart Show on Sunday, and we were quite successful. The first picture is of Thomas and all his regular ribbons for the day and the second is of him with his/our Hi Point Senior champion ribbon!

Why do I leave it so long between posts?
Wow, the last time I posted was the 21st of April and so much has happened since then. Firstly, as mentioned in the intro for my blog, Millie and and I are no longer partners. She is still a part of the clan at Glen Ayr, but after Coonabarrabran she became naughtier than ever before, and so we parted ways. All the time, since I stopped riding Pixie, the was a horse at school, right under our noses! Introducing Thomas. He is a 16hh, 18 yo bay gentleman. I have been riding him since the second week of this term, and I haven't found anything he doesn't like doing, or isn't good at for that matter! He jumps, dressages', shows, everything I can throw at him, he treats it like its easy-peasy! At our first show, Lockhart Ag, on the 25th of Sep, we placed:
I will post some pics tomorrow, and maybe a bit more news!

Easter is upon us...
Yesterday I found these really cute Lindt easter eggs in Big W. Take a look. The big bunny is normal size and the little one is just, well, plain cute :)
Most awesome new hat!
Was in Jay Jays the other day and found the coolest hat :) I've always hated cold ears but now...
P.S Sorry for the dodgy pic :)

How time flies...
It's been a long time since my last post and a lot has happened. Millie and I have been to only one gymkhana this year. She was lame for two of them and then... She started getting a bit naughty and so she went and had a holiday with a trainer in Howlong for 3 weeks. I rode her there Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of last week and then we bought her home on Wednesday. I rode her on Thursday when the Cole kids were here. It wasn't high intensity stuff but she got ridden. Then I rode her yesterday and actually managed to canter some circles without her pinning her ears or pigrooting :) Luckily, i have learnt some more tips and tricks so that we can keep the partnership going. We are planning to attend a large inter-school competition in June, held in Coonabarabran. It is held over four days and is the largest interschool comp in Australia. There is also a smaller lead-up comp in May that is held in Albury by Scots School.
Apart from all that, we are on school holidays now, which is a good thing! We had exams at the end of the term and I'm happy to say i passed all of them and topped my year in english! We now have two mobs of cows and a bull. one mob is mainly Murray-Greys, and the other is mainly black-Angus. The bull is Murray Grey.
I think that is about all for now, I will try and keep posts more regular from now on.
Gotta Gallop,

It's a beautiful day!
Sorry it's been so long between posts, but you know what life is like :) Unfortuately, Henty Show was cancelled due to rain, which was a bummer, however Miss Millie is going along nicely and I'm really enjoying spending time with her and ridig her. Hopefully this week is a little drier than last so that we can go to our Pony Club rally on Sunday in Jindera. Steph and I have a One Day Event on on the 6th March, so we will be starting to prepare for that. In farm news, we bought some ewe-lambs and we also aqquired some lambs on agistment, who will hopefully eat some of the feed that is coming out of our ears. I have also started working in the school kitchen so that I can earn some extra cash and have somerhing extra to put on my resume. It is only night a week so far, but it's very tiring :) Anyways, better go start on my HSIE assingment, so as always,

Just Forgot...
Forgot to add on my previous post that in farm news we sold 155 lambs on thursday @ $170 a head!! We have also secured 200+ lambs on 8 weeks agistment @ a dollar a head per week, which is good because we have lucerne coming out our ears at the moment. oh, and I got Skype. My skype name is katnoske96 if you'd like to add me.

New year, new gear!!
Hi all, sorry for the gap between posts but youu know what holidays are like. Anyways, I got a new bridle on thursday, and if i might say myself, it's AWESOME!! Millie looks great in it and it's really soft. Allison from horseland is coming to SPC on Tuesday to fit my new SADDLE which looks like this:
Needless to say I'm very excited. I also bought a new pair of beige joddies for competeing and some new boots amongst other things. I also ordered some clothes from the Australian Stock Horse Society the other day which should arrive soon. I'm making myself a hacking cane which I will post pics of later and all this in preparation for Henty Show which is on the 12th Feb so fingers crossed I'm ready :)
Gotta Gallop now but will post again soon,
Kat
P.S Weekly emails will start again soon. I hope :)

Hello again!
Hello again!
Sorry it's been so long but you know what the holiday season is like. Anyways, Millie is basically back in full work now after her break and I'm happy to report everything is going well. We have been shifting quite a few mobs of sheep and yesterday she even went in the water on her own accord! (she usually has to be fought with to get her into water)
In other news the harvest is almost finished, we have a paddock of oats and a tiny bit of barley left to strip. The header is actually brocken down at the moment but dad is working on it as we speak. We sold 100 lambs yesterday for exactly the same price we got last week; 168.80 each. Anyways,

Finally!
I finally got Millie to eat her medicine!!!! I tried putting it in her feed normally, I tried a honey sandwhich, but in the end Phil from school bought out some bran to mix in the chaff and she's eating that now so I'm happy :) I'll probably wash her sometime this week as I'm still not allowed to ride her so yeah...

*Sigh*
I'm not allowed to ride Millie for 10 whole days!!!!!!!! She has a cold and it will help her to fight that and to get over her lameness. I have to feed her special powder everyday and i don't know what i'm going to do not riding for a week and a half!! And, Pixie was sold today. I'm sad :( he went to a good home and all but still... anyways,

New arena
Steph and I have started to plan a new arena. It will be in the end of the mill lane, which is near the house. We planted a kurrajong yesterday and a cedar today and we also potted up some walnut tree seedlings. All of these trees are going to go around the edge of the arena.
I haven't ridden for a couple of days because she was a bit sore and the weather hasn't been that good either. I'll post gain when I do though :)
Gotta go check on my seedlings,

Cross Country
Cross country was not to bad in the end. Millie was relitively calm and we walked through lots of scary water in the creek... She was well behaved and we only had one 'discussion' about standidng still, so all in all a good ride :)

Randomness about the wetness
Does anyone else other than me think the drought might have maybe broken? Just a little (enter sarcassam) :)
IT IS WET!!!
It is wet and I do not like wet because it means I cannot ride my beautiful pony and that makes me mad. That is why i do not like wet. My pony does not like wet either because it gets in her ears and makes her cold. GRRR go away wet!!!!!!!

Hellooo
Hi guys,
Sorry 'bout the gap between posts, dorm life is hetic!! Have ridden Millie 3 times this week and I can say there has not been many hiccups. She is a little lame at the moment and likes here personal space but thats about it. I will try and get some pics of her soon, but they won't do her justice. I have fallen head over heals for her and there's no stopping now!!

Quick update
Rode Millie bareback for about 10 minutes just before and all went well. For some unknown reason, they decided to tip the trough over yesterday and Pepper has cuts all down his back legs so we had to catch him so I decided to catch Millie as well. Mum is taking her to school tomorrow so I have my fingers crossed that it all works out.

Don't ya hate it when...
Don't ya hate it when somehow pictures mysteriously don't end up on the computer and then by the time you've realised they aren't there they've been deleted off the camera as well?? It sucks. I was going to upload a picture of Millie but they grew legs and walked away... Sorry about that, you'll just have to wait a bit longer.

2nd ride!!
I rode Millie abut an hour ago and that feeling is getting stonger. It probably didn't look all that great, but we're still getting used to each other. She was fairt quiet and very responsive to most aids. I brushed her afterwards and talked to her about what things I will buy her if I get her. She actually drank when I offered her water and she didn't kick dust up in my face when I let her go. I will probably put some hoof oil on he hooves tonight and brush her if I can find the hoof oil that is...That's all for now but I'll let you know if I ride her this avro.

This may sound weird...
I know I have only known her for less than a week, but the more I think about her the more I get of this good feeling. It just feels right. I don’t know what it is but my gut is feeling good about her. I have only ridden her once, and we did have a disagreement about the canter, but as I said it just feels right. I feel a bit bad for Pixie, but I think he understands that he was a ‘fill-in’ pony. Having said that he was a super fill in pony, the best I’ve ever had! I don’t hate Pepper or anything, we just had a personality clash, and I think that there is someone else out there that will enjoy him a lot more that I ever did or will. It’s not a strong one yet, but I think Millie and I have a connection. All this might be bull but I don’t think it is. I’m not sure if it has anything to do with Him, but I have a feeling (yes, another one) about her. I’m not all that religious but I think that my prayers may just have been answered in the form of the horse standing in the cattle yards at the moment. I’ll stop crapping on now, and I’ll get back to you about that four-legged thingo!
