Why do I leave it so long between posts?

Wow, the last time I posted was the 21st of April and so much has happened since then. Firstly, as mentioned in the intro for my blog, Millie and and I are no longer partners. She is still a part of the clan at Glen Ayr, but after Coonabarrabran she became naughtier than ever before, and so we parted ways. All the time, since I stopped riding Pixie, the was a horse at school, right under our noses! Introducing Thomas. He is a 16hh, 18 yo bay gentleman. I have been riding him since the second week of this term, and I haven't found anything he doesn't like doing, or isn't good at for that matter! He jumps, dressages', shows, everything I can throw at him, he treats it like its easy-peasy! At our first show, Lockhart Ag, on the 25th of Sep, we placed:
2nd Handler 13 years and under 17
3rd Best Presented Horse and Rider
1st Rider 12 years and under 17
1st Ridden Hack over 15hh
2nd Ridden Black, Brown or Bay Horse
Equal Champion Hi Point Senior (30 points)

I will post some pics tomorrow, and maybe a bit more news!
Yours,
Kat

Easter is upon us...

Yesterday I found these really cute Lindt easter eggs in Big W. Take a look. The big bunny is normal size and the little one is just, well, plain cute :)

Most awesome new hat!

Was in Jay Jays the other day and found the coolest hat :) I've always hated cold ears but now...

P.S Sorry for the dodgy pic :)

How time flies...

It's been a long time since my last post and a lot has happened. Millie and I have been to only one gymkhana this year. She was lame for two of them and then... She started getting a bit naughty and so she went and had a holiday with a trainer in Howlong for 3 weeks. I rode her there Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of last week and then we bought her home on Wednesday. I rode her on Thursday when the Cole kids were here. It wasn't high intensity stuff but she got ridden. Then I rode her yesterday and actually managed to canter some circles without her pinning her ears or pigrooting :) Luckily, i have learnt some more tips and tricks so that we can keep the partnership going. We are planning to attend a large inter-school competition in June, held in Coonabarabran. It is held over four days and is the largest interschool comp in Australia. There is also a smaller lead-up comp in May that is held in Albury by Scots School.

Apart from all that, we are on school holidays now, which is a good thing! We had exams at the end of the term and I'm happy to say i passed all of them and topped my year in english! We now have two mobs of cows and a bull. one mob is mainly Murray-Greys, and the other is mainly black-Angus. The bull is Murray Grey.

I think that is about all for now, I will try and keep posts more regular from now on.

It's a beautiful day!

Sorry it's been so long between posts, but you know what life is like :) Unfortuately, Henty Show was cancelled due to rain, which was a bummer, however Miss Millie is going along nicely and I'm really enjoying spending time with her and ridig her. Hopefully this week is a little drier than last so that we can go to our Pony Club rally on Sunday in Jindera. Steph and I have a One Day Event on on the 6th March, so we will be starting to prepare for that. In farm news, we bought some ewe-lambs and we also aqquired some lambs on agistment, who will hopefully eat some of the feed that is coming out of our ears. I have also started working in the school kitchen so that I can earn some extra cash and have somerhing extra to put on my resume. It is only night a week so far, but it's very tiring :) Anyways, better go start on my HSIE assingment, so as always,
Gotta Gallop,

Just Forgot...

Forgot to add on my previous post that in farm news we sold 155 lambs on thursday @ $170 a head!! We have also secured 200+ lambs on 8 weeks agistment @ a dollar a head per week, which is good because we have lucerne coming out our ears at the moment. oh, and I got Skype. My skype name is katnoske96 if you'd like to add me.

New year, new gear!!

Hi all, sorry for the gap between posts but youu know what holidays are like. Anyways, I got a new bridle on thursday, and if i might say myself, it's AWESOME!! Millie looks great in it and it's really soft. Allison from horseland is coming to SPC on Tuesday to fit my new SADDLE which looks like this:
Needless to say I'm very excited. I also bought a new pair of beige joddies for competeing and some new boots amongst other things. I also ordered some clothes from the Australian Stock Horse Society the other day which should arrive soon. I'm making myself a hacking cane which I will post pics of later and all this in preparation for Henty Show which is on the 12th Feb so fingers crossed I'm ready :)
Gotta Gallop now but will post again soon,
Kat

P.S Weekly emails will start again soon. I hope :)

Hello again!

Hello again!
Sorry it's been so long but you know what the holiday season is like. Anyways, Millie is basically back in full work now after her break and I'm happy to report everything is going well. We have been shifting quite a few mobs of sheep and yesterday she even went in the water on her own accord! (she usually has to be fought with to get her into water)

In other news the harvest is almost finished, we have a paddock of oats and a tiny bit of barley left to strip. The header is actually brocken down at the moment but dad is working on it as  we speak. We sold 100 lambs yesterday for exactly the same price we got last week; 168.80 each. Anyways,
Gotta Gallop,
Kat + Millie
